Jim "Jimi Jazz" Prescott

A former Rock musician (with G. Love & Special Sauce), Prescott is rehabilitating himself through the discipline of film.  "Back in my day everybody was in a band, now all the cool kids are film makers," he explains.  "Working as Second DP with the masterful Peter Fuhrman and the wonderful talents at the Portland Film Actors Studio is really helping me assemble reference points to find my own voice as a film maker."

His work so far has been focused on transformation, but it's otherwise free-form, using film, video and digital manipulation, black & white and color; indeed, whatever is necessary to tell the story. He credits his initial success to his training as an Electrical Engineer providing a foundation for a skill-set that encompasses the entire range of the Film Arts, from budgets to technology, writing to acting.  "The last few years there, on the road, I was acting like it wasn't driving me crazy!" say's Prescott today.
